Trooping the Colour and Beating Retreat this year were just a good as in previous years.
Not a bad summer really but in late August a visit to Hayling Island included a trip in the 45ft Sunseeker of Ray & Jill Gadd. Joined by Richard, Louisa and Billy we cruised around to Portsmouth Harbour where we saw the new aircraft carrier HMS Queen Elizabeth and had lunch besides the Haslar Marina. Wonderful day!
This year began with a trip to Canada to see my sister and brother in law. They live in Belmont, Nova Scotia and whilst we were aware that the weather in late March and early April would still be snow, biting winds and rain, it turned out to be very benign and pleasant weather. Trips to Halifax to see the Titanic museum and a wonderful excursion to Peggy's Cove were the highlights of the visit
